Students Counselling Cell

Roles & Responsibilities

·         Facilitates personal wellbeing of the students through support and guidance of trained counsellors. Provides counselling on social and personal issues such as depression, low self esteem, disruptive classroom behaviour, Stress etc., by conducting individual counselling session.

·         Help the students with academic difficulties

·         Helping slow learners with guidance and counselling.

·         Assure a confidential atmosphere in which the students can discuss any concerns they may have.

·         Assist the students to identify their inner strengths and weaknesses, which enables them to gain holistic development.

·         Organize lectures for students on mental health and addiction issues in general.

·         Facilitate with proper infrastructure for conducting awareness program.

·         Refer the students to professional psychiatrics or counsellors for guidance, in severe cases.

·         Initiate counselling session to improvise teacher-student relationship.

·         In order to solve student issues, the personal cell even seeks the help of the students’ parents and if needed counselling sessions are arranged.

·         Helps the students to overcome economic, social, and cultural barriers.

·         Performs continuous monitoring of the counselled students through re-evaluation/reassessment process.

·         Recommends the coping strategies for the counselled students to overcome post counselling issues.
